SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA – Thousands of San Diego Gas and Electric customers were without power Thursday night due to outages across the county.

An outage near downtown San Diego affected 2,197 people in the communities of Balboa Park, Center City, Golden Hills, Lincoln Park, Logan Heights and Mountain View, according to the SDG&E outage map.

An outage in Coronado left 1,176 without power in the communities of Coronado, Coronado Cays, North Island and Tijuana River Park.

Multiple other outages were reported in and around the cities and communities of Alpine, Boulder, Carlsbad, Creek, Chula Vista, El Cajon, Jamul, Pala, Palomar Mountain, Pauma Valley and San Pasqual Valley.

In all, nearly 5,000 customers were without power, according to the SDG&E outage map. Power is expected to be restored to the affected areas by 8:30 p.m., the utility company advised.
