LOS ANGELES, CA — With thousands of Californians returning home after Thanksgiving breaks spent out-of-state, the coming days may see record travel volume through Los Angeles International Airport, KABC reported. Airport officials are expecting 246,000 travelers to move through LAX Sunday and Monday.

More than 100,000 cars will pass through LAX Sunday, according to the airport. The airport is asking guests to prepare for congested parking lots and heavy traffic, but it will deploy extra staff to help travelers call rideshare services from the airport.

The rollout of LAX’s new rideshare system was characterized by long wait times and general chaos earlier this month. And it may not help that Southern California is experiencing a major cold-weather storm this week that has likely disrupted millions of travelers’ plans.
